Description
Redfoot’s Winnowing Fork, dubbed “…best freshman effort” of 2008 by The Phantom Tollbooth, is americana at its finest. Here you will find carefully crafted and heartfelt nods to Thomas Lynch (a union soldier crossing the Ohio River to start a new life in Rome, Indiana), Charlton Heston (whose heart was never broken by a girl), Nehi Grape soda and learning to fish (even for the hearts and souls of men). Other tunes, such as “Literally” and “Digital Jesus,” explore the tension of faith and hypocrisy (both ancient and modern) while “From Dirt, With Praise” and “Run, Longest” simply express the awe and humility surrounding creation and the hard, beautiful life within it.
