Description
From the Mouths of Shepherds explores the effects of spiritual abuse and recovery, the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith. “Careful Distance” warns us of the snake loose in the garden and “Day of Our Reunion” pines for a day when the distractions of lust, greed, and jealousies are thrown in the fire. “Wolf and Sheep” is a humbling reminder of our humanity, each of us capable of doing harm to one another despite our best intentions. It’s a reminder of the old saying, “there, but by the grace of God, go I…” when the chorus prayerfully evaluates the narrator’s own shortcomings with, “Lord, keep my feet from where my heart often ventures…”
Tracks like “Hungry Coyote” and “Found Me Out” are a musical throw back to the glory days of the 90’s Tooth & Nail Records scene – guitar driven with plenty of hooks and riffs that will stay in your head, hopefully making good company for the thoughtful (though often provocative) narrative lyrics.
Produced by Rory Willis and Brandon Miles.
